Activate or deactivate Assesslets

By default, assesslets are activated and assigned to all variants and test cases in a project. However, TPT gives you control to activate or deactivate assesslets depending on your project specifications. You can deactivate/activate an assesslet in the Assesslets view and in the Common assesslets settings section, see Common Assesslet Settings.

Select the test case(s) or test case group(s) in the Project view. Select the assesslet(s) or assesslet group in the Assesslets view. The following icons are available in the Assesslets view for deactivating/activating assesslets:

activates the assesslet for selected test case(s) or test case group(s); shortcut: Ctrl+7
activates the assesslet for selected test case(s) or test case group(s) only and deactivates for all other test case(s) or test case group(s); shortcut: Ctrl+6
deactivates for selected test case(s) or test case group(s); shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+7
adds new assesslets only to the selected test case
It can be set for several assesslets at once using multiple selection (Ctrl+click).

Click on the filter icon to display only the assesslets activated for the selected test
case(s). If you disable the filter, the deactivated assesslets of that test case(s) will be displayed dimmed out.

If an assesslet is activated for a test case but not executed, check the Time context settings of that assesslet, see Common Assesslet Settings - Time Context.

If assesslets cannot be activated for the test cases selected, you will receive a warning and get a list of all assesslets including the test cases that cannot be activated for the assesslet. An assesslet cannot be activated for a test case that uses, for example, the variant A while in the Common assesslet settings section is specified that the assesslet should only be activated for test cases using the variant D.

"Common assesslet settings section" specifies which assesslet can be activated

To activate an assesslet for the selected test case(s)/ test case group(s) and deactivate all other assesslets, select the test case(s) or test case group(s) in the Project view. Select the desired assesslet(s) or assesslet group in the Assesslets view. Click Activate for selected test cases only to activate the assesslet for the selected elements and deactivate it for the rest. If a group(s) is selected, the assesslet will not be activated for all subsequently created test cases in the group.

By default, assesslets are activated and assigned to all variants and test cases in the Project view. However, you can invert this logic and make TPT to assign each newly created assesslet (once the option is activated) to just the selected test case(s) or test case group(s), instead of assigning it to all test cases. To do so, select Add new Assesslets only to the Selected Test Case:

Add new assesslets to the selected test case

The assesslet icon signals if all, some, or no test cases are activated in the selected test cases group.

'A': assesslets are activated for some test cases of the selected test cases group; 'B': assesslets are activated for all test cases of the selected test cases group;' C': assesslets are not activated for any test case of the selected test cases group; 'D': the assesslet is disabled
